The structure of the aerated biological filter is similar to that of the ordinary rapid filter. The main body of the aerated biological filter consists of the filter body, filter material layer, support layer, water distribution system, cloth system, backwash system, water outlet system, pipeline and automatic control system.

Process of aerated biological filter

1. Drainage and water supply system: The drainage system in the aerated biological filter is generally set at the bottom to remove the sewage and its degradation products in the filter material. The water supply system can be carried out by means of nozzles or drippers to keep the filter material layer moist.

2. Oxygen supply system: The oxygen supply system is a key component of the aerated biological filter. Generally, the gas is transported to the aeration device at the bottom of the filter tank by a blower or a booster pump. In order to increase the solubility of oxygen, a gas-liquid mixer can be added to the gas delivery system.

3. Aeration device: The aeration device is the core part of the oxygen supply system, which evenly distributes the gas to the filter material layer by means of injection, meandering, dispersion, etc. Commonly used aeration devices include jet aeration devices, meander aeration devices, and multi-layer fine-pore tubes.

4. Aeration stirring system: The aeration stirring system can be used to increase the contact area between the filter material and the biofilm, and promote the attachment and decomposition of the biofilm. Generally, mechanical stirring or surface aeration is used, and care should be taken not to damage the structure of the filter layer.

Advantages of aerated biological filter

1. Good treatment effect: The aerated biological filter can effectively remove organic matter and reduce suspended matter and colloids in wastewater. It also has good residual chlorine elimination, ammonia nitrogen removal and water lifting capacity.

2. Low equipment investment: The aerated biological filter does not require expensive equipment and a large land area, and can be transformed using existing ponds or tanks, saving engineering investment.

3. Low operating cost: The operating cost of the aerated biological filter is low, mainly including energy consumption and maintenance costs. Due to its simple process and easy operation, it reduces the cost of repair and maintenance.

4. Strong adaptability: The aerated biological filter has wide adaptability and can treat wastewater containing industrial wastewater, sludge and high-concentration harmful substances. It can also be adjusted and operated according to changes in water quality.
